Writing poetry is a great, healthy way to let out your emotions, but sometimes it's just nice to write for fun for we live in a world full of variety!
Always remember those who have fallen for our freedom.
Land of the Free
Freedom rings.....in the land of the free,
as the red, white, and blue.....spreads over land and sea.
Through fields of green or waters blue,
children run and play.....in the land of the free.
A writer writes, a singer sings,
Although not all may agree,
They bless this freedom that rings.....in the land of the free.
A country diverse.....nationalities combined,
No matter the color, gender, or belief,
Freedom rings for all.......in the land of the free.

Beauty Surprise!
In this high-tech world,
with everything moving in such a fast pace,
we're always rushing here and there,
as if we're all in a race.
We seldom have time,
to sit and relax,
for with work and family,
our lives are filled to the max!
We may take a walk around the block,
or even in the park,
but the dog is usually beside us,
and many times it's already dark.
But if we would just slow down a moment,
and take a look around,
we may be happily surprised,
at all the beauty in this world to be found.

Beauty Within
Where do we look,
for the beauty we find?
Be it in humans or nature,
on earth or in the sky.
The things we consider,
to be unpleasant or strange,
can sometimes surprise us,
but we usually just complain.
Instead of taking the time,
to look for the beauty inside,
we only see what's on the surface,
looking around as if we were blind.

The Rose
The beauty of a rose,
So tender and sweet,
Softly lay between its folds,
Snuggled in to go to sleep.
Unfolding as it blooms,
Uncurling with love and desire,
Opening up to seek the sun,
The warmth of earth's own great fire.
If we seek to look within,
We may be surprised what lay inside,
For a bud is still a rose,
That is just waiting to open wide.
